Oh, whiskey. Where would I be without your distinct aftertaste after session of drinking?
To put it straightly, by no means am I an alcoholic. I crave for the taste of a bottle of whiskey only when it's appropriate.
With that out of the picture, let's get down to business.
I love whiskey. It's my second favourite alcoholic beverage next to a pint of beer. Whenever it's a special occasion like an anniversary or birthday, I look towards a shot of whiskey to brighten up my day. But as time moved on, I grew weary of the same old bottle of Jack Daniels. Hence, I searched for different brands of whiskey.
Then I found Hakushu whiskey, one of Japan's most popular alcoholic beverages. I discovered it online while I was finding whiskey on the Internet. It only cost me $275 because it was on sale! Fortunately, I was in the mood to try something new.
A New Favourite
It was enticing to see a brand new bottle of liquor, instead of the same old Jack Daniels that I've been drinking for a decade. My curiosity led me to check out what the Hakushu whiskey offers. To my amazement, I discovered the history behind the beverage.
Interestingly, the Hakushu whiskey is distilled at Hakushu Distillery, Japan. It's a common drink in Japan and is most probably the country's version of Jack Daniels.
Anyway, when my product arrived, I was too excited to get a glimpse of what the Japanese taste regularly. So when I opened the package and saw the shiny bottle, I opened the cap, poured a tiny amount of alcohol in my shot glass, and went straight to drinking.
Maybe it's just me, but the taste is almost unlike anything I've ever tried out before! It has this different combination of flavours: spicy, sweet, and smokey. The sweetness of the whiskey is triumphant compared to its spiciness. However, once the smooth whiskey goes down your throat, you'll feel a strong smokey aftertaste.
In general, the Hakushu whiskey is a flavourful drink with a strong aftertaste that's perfect for all occasions. Its smooth and sweet taste will satisfy most taste buds.
The Verdict
In my humble opinion, the Hakushu whiskey is a great drink to have at home whenever you want a quick taste of that sweet and spicy flavour. You'll never go wrong with a bottle of Hakushu whiskey.
However, if you're an avid Scotch drinker, you might not enjoy the taste of Hakushu whiskey at first. I had to drink the Japanese whiskey at least two or three times before I appreciated its flavour. If you're not hooked at first, then maybe you should drink more of the Japanese whiskey?
I highly recommend this whiskey for people who want to try something new. It's a versatile drink to have at home whenever you crave for a bottle of Whiskey.
